Trusted irrigation maintenance in Holly Springs, NC

Irrigation maintenance is the year-round care your existing system needs to keep working the way it did on day one: inspections, tune-ups, head cleaning and adjustment, controller programming, and pressure checks. Cary Sprinklers is the local team Holly Springs homeowners call for it, with 10+ years in the Triangle and genuine Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, Irritrol, and Rachio parts on the truck. Adam stays close to every job, and the same accountable local crew shows up each visit.

Holly Springs gives you a real reason to keep your system tuned: the Town offers a separate irrigation-only meter, so lawn water isn’t billed for sewer — but only an efficient system captures those savings. West of N.C. 55, some neighborhoods irrigate on reclaimed water, which clogs nozzles and filters faster than potable supply and makes regular cleaning non-negotiable. Most yards here sit on tight clay under fresh sod, so a misadjusted head runs off into the street instead of soaking in. The Town also runs a backflow-prevention program and can limit drinking-water irrigation during drought staging. Routine irrigation maintenance keeps you efficient, compliant, and off the emergency-repair list.

We serve homeowners throughout Holly Springs — including 12 Oaks, Sunset Ridge, Holly Glen, and the Bass Lake area — and the surrounding Wake County area, and we’ve handled irrigation maintenance across the town for over a decade.

The most common pattern we see in Holly Springs: a builder-installed system in a newer neighborhood like Holly Glen, still running the installer’s default schedule two or three years later. On tight clay under fresh sod, that means runoff down the curb and dry spots at the same time. One irrigation maintenance visit — reprogram, clean, adjust — usually fixes both.

Common irrigation maintenance problems we fix in Holly Springs

Big or small, we fix it right the first time with genuine Hunter, Rain Bird & Toro parts.

Broken and clogged heads

We run every zone and check each head for breaks, clogs, and misalignment. On reclaimed-water streets west of N.C. 55, clogged nozzles are the number-one thing we find.

Nozzle and filter cleaning

Grit and biofilm choke nozzles slowly, so coverage fades before you notice. We pull, clean, and re-nozzle so every zone throws its full pattern again.

Arcs and spray patterns

Heads drift out of adjustment and start watering driveways and siding. We reset arcs and radii so water lands on turf, not pavement.

Valve operation

A sticking valve weeps between cycles or fails to open at all. We verify every valve electrically and hydraulically before it strands a zone in July.

Pressure and flow balance

We check static and dynamic pressure and balance flow across zones. Misting heads waste water; low-pressure zones leave dry crescents in clay-based lawns.

Controller programming

We reprogram your controller each season to match the Town watering schedule and your yard’s actual needs. Clay soil wants shorter, repeated cycles — not one long soak.

Who needs irrigation maintenance in Holly Springs?

Holly Springs irrigation maintenance customers range from first-time system owners in new construction to families who’ve been watering the same lawn for a decade.

New-construction homeowners

Much of Holly Springs is newer, and builder-installed systems on fresh sod often ship with generic settings. A first-year tune-up dials the system to your actual yard and the tight clay under it.

Reclaimed-water households

West of N.C. 55, reclaimed water clogs nozzles and filters faster than potable supply. These systems need cleaning on a tighter cycle to keep coverage even.

Irrigation-meter savers

Homeowners on the separate irrigation meter are already saving on sewer charges. Regular sprinkler maintenance makes sure a leak or misting head doesn’t quietly eat those savings.

Busy families on a plan

Plenty of folks in 12 Oaks and Holly Glen just want it handled. Our annual plan covers startup, mid-season check, and winterization without anyone watching the calendar.

Signs you need irrigation maintenance in Holly Springs

If you notice any of these, it’s time for a look:

  • Dry crescents or brown arcs in the lawn
  • Heads misting or sputtering instead of spraying
  • Water running down the curb on tight clay
  • A jump in your irrigation meter bill
  • Zones that skip, stick on, or run at odd hours
  • Nozzles clogging fast on reclaimed water

What Holly Springs’s rules and clay mean for your irrigation maintenance

Holly Springs isn’t like the rest of the Triangle, and we work to what makes it different.

What Holly Springs homeowners should know

  • Irrigation-only meter: Holly Springs offers a separate irrigation meter so sprinkler water isn’t billed for sewer. A tuned system makes the most of that meter — savings we help you capture.
  • Reclaimed water west of N.C. 55: Some Holly Springs areas irrigate on reclaimed water, which clogs nozzles and filters faster. We clean, re-nozzle, and keep lines properly separated.
  • Backflow program: The Town runs a backflow-prevention program with testing requirements. We test, repair, and file the paperwork so your account stays clear.
  • Drought staging: Holly Springs can limit drinking-water irrigation in dry spells. We program efficient schedules that keep your lawn alive and your account compliant.

I’m so glad I found Cary Sprinklers! Adam, the owner, is incredibly friendly, honest, and straightforward. He found several problems with our sprinkler system and was able to fix them for a very reasonable price. We had other companies come out who tried to upsell us on repairs costing thousands of dollars, so the difference was unbelievable. I have some experience in this field myself, so I know how to evaluate vendors and recognize when someone is being honest and when they’re simply trying to sell you more work. Adam was clearly focused on actually solving the problems rather than taking advantage of us. He saved us a tremendous amount of money, and we really appreciate it. Thank you so much, Adam, for your honesty, professionalism, and excellent work. Highly recommended!

This is the second time we have used Cary Sprinklers, and both times involved dirty digging and repairing complex leaks. The first was an underground valve leak and they put the dirt and our sod back as if it was their own home. The site around our second job by our backflow was also filled in nicely. Adam the owner, Matt the estimator, and Colby the irrigation magician were all great to work with. We think our irrigation in our box came apart when TOC main busted and the extreme pressure of 200+ psi was too much. Matt did a thorough job looking at our issue, answering all my questions about the possible TOC main break playing a part, and giving quote for the time he felt it would take. Keep in mind, this is the type of small business where you need to be flexible on the time of arrival since prior jobs may put them behind. With this said, the crew will spend all the time needed to repair the issue you have at your home and not rush to make things just good enough. They want to make sure the repair is done to your satisfaction. I texted Adam several times and he had a prompt response time. He was also prompt via email with a post work invoice question. We recommend supporting Cary Sprinklers for the reasons above and because this is a small business growing roots in our community.

Adam and Gerald showed up right on time and kept me updated with texts the night before and the day of with their ETA. I needed a new zone added for part of the yard that wasn’t getting enough water anymore, and they did a great job. Fair pricing, excellent communication, and very professional — I’m really happy with the result.

5 stars — Highly recommend Cary Sprinklers! We hired Cary Sprinklers to expand our existing irrigation system by extending one zone and adding a completely new zone. From the beginning, they were professional, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with. What really impressed us was the equipment and efficiency. They used a Toro Dingo to trench the new lines, which allowed them to get the work done quickly and professionally while keeping the disruption to our yard to a minimum. The crew clearly knew what they were doing, and the installation was done right. Adam took the time to explain what we needed and why, and the communication throughout the project was excellent. The new zones give us much better coverage of the property, and everything is working exactly as it should. We couldn’t be happier with the finished system. The whole process was smooth, and the work exceeded our expectations. We would definitely use Cary Sprinklers again.

Cary Sprinklers is amazing. Adam is professional, capable, and wonderful to do business with. We called him because we had trouble with our timer app and controller. It wasn’t a brand that he usually works with, but he figured it out and fixed it anyway. Additionally, his team did an amazing job removing this massive root to get a broken sprinkler out of the ground and replace it and even under budget! I’ve done business with a few sprinkler companies in my lifetime, and these guys are the best!! They are honest, reliable, and very detail oriented. You will not be sorry if you call Cary Sprinklers.

Adam came out and made adjustments to several unfamiliar sprinkler heads that had been causing some lawn coverage issues. He worked quickly & efficiently to correct the issues to my satisfaction. A very good experience!

How our irrigation maintenance works

No mystery, no runaround — here’s the order we work in.

Full-system walk-through

We run every zone and inspect each head, checking for breaks, clogs, misalignment, and coverage gaps while the system operates.

Clean, adjust, verify

We clean nozzles and filters, reset arcs and spray patterns, and verify valve operation zone by zone.

Pressure and flow check

We measure static and dynamic pressure and confirm flow balance, catching leaks and restrictions before they become dig-ups.

Program and report

We reprogram the controller for the season and the Town schedule, then walk you through what we found and what to watch.

What sets a professional irrigation maintenance team apart in Holly Springs

Anyone can walk a lawn and eyeball heads. A professional irrigation maintenance team measures — static and dynamic pressure, flow balance, valve response — and knows Holly Springs specifics like reclaimed-water clogging west of N.C. 55 and the Town’s backflow program. We carry genuine Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, Irritrol, and Rachio parts, so small fixes happen on the spot instead of on a second trip. Adam stays close to every job and stands behind the work with a 12-month workmanship warranty and a 100% satisfaction guarantee. And it’s the same local team each visit, so nobody relearns your system every spring.

How long does irrigation maintenance take in Holly Springs?

A standard irrigation maintenance visit in Holly Springs runs about an hour for a typical four-to-six-zone yard; larger systems in Sunset Ridge or 12 Oaks can take longer. Spring startup is the big one — get on the schedule before the April rush so problems surface before summer heat. A mid-season check in July catches clogged nozzles and drifted heads at their worst, and winterization in late fall protects pipes before the first hard freeze. If you’re on reclaimed water, plan on more frequent nozzle cleaning. Our annual maintenance plan bundles all three visits so you never have to think about the calendar.

How much does irrigation maintenance cost in Holly Springs?

Irrigation maintenance cost in Holly Springs depends on scope: zone count, system age, and whether you want a single tune-up or an annual plan with startup, mid-season check, and winterization. We quote upfront before any work starts — no surprises when the invoice arrives. Most homeowners find the plan pays for itself in water savings alone, especially on an irrigation-only meter where every efficient gallon counts. Estimates are free. Call or text 919-341-9644 and we’ll give you a straight number for your system.

How to choose an irrigation maintenance company in Holly Springs

Searching for irrigation maintenance near you turns up plenty of names, but choosing the right company in Holly Springs comes down to a few direct questions. Ask whether they’re fully insured, and whether they handle the Town’s backflow testing and filing. Ask what a tune-up actually includes — if pressure checks and controller reprogramming aren’t on the list, you’re paying for a walk-around. Ask whether they stock genuine parts for your brand of heads and controller, and whether the same crew returns each visit. A company that knows the irrigation-meter and reclaimed-water rules here will save you money a generic outfit won’t.

Serving Holly Springs neighborhoods

We service systems all over Holly Springs, and the neighborhoods each have a character. 12 Oaks and Sunset Ridge run larger multi-zone systems where one drifted rotor can leave a whole stretch of turf dry. Holly Glen and the Bass Lake area mix established lawns with newer sod, and the tight clay underneath punishes any schedule that runs too long at once. Wherever you are, the same local team shows up, already familiar with the Town’s meter, reclaimed-water, and backflow rules. Everything we do locally — every service, plus Holly Springs water rules and neighborhoods — is collected on our Holly Springs, NC page.

What makes Holly Springs different is the water itself. Between the irrigation-only meter, reclaimed supply west of N.C. 55, and drought staging on drinking water, a tuned system here has more ways to save money — and more ways to fall out of compliance — than almost anywhere else in the Triangle. That’s why sprinkler maintenance here is as much about the meter and the rulebook as it is about the heads.

A well-maintained system still needs its seasonal bookends — see our winterization & spring startup in Holly Springs page for the fall shutdown and spring wake-up. For the rest of our proactive services, start at the irrigation maintenance hub.

Some jobs deserve their own deep dive — see our pages on system inspection & audit, maintenance plans, pressure regulation for the full detail on how we handle each across Holly Springs.

Holly Springs irrigation maintenance FAQ

How much does irrigation maintenance cost in Holly Springs?

It depends on zone count and whether you want a one-time irrigation tune-up or an annual plan with startup, mid-season check, and winterization. We quote upfront before any work begins, and estimates are free. Call or text 919-341-9644 for a straight number.

How often should my sprinkler system be serviced?

Three touches a year is the standard: spring startup, a mid-season check, and fall winterization. Holly Springs homes on reclaimed water should add nozzle and filter cleaning more often, since that supply clogs components faster.

Do you handle Holly Springs backflow testing?

Yes. The Town runs a backflow-prevention program, and we test, repair, and file the paperwork so your water account stays in good standing. It’s an easy add-on to a maintenance visit.

Will maintenance actually lower my water bill?

Usually, yes — especially if you’re on Holly Springs’s irrigation-only meter, where every wasted gallon still costs you. Cleaning nozzles, fixing misting heads, and reprogramming the controller cuts waste, and catching small leaks early prevents the expensive kind.

My system is only a few years old. Does it really need a tune-up?

Newer doesn’t mean adjusted. Builder-installed systems on fresh sod over tight clay often run generic schedules that cause runoff, and heads shift as the ground settles. A tune-up in the first year or two typically pays for itself in water savings.

I’m on reclaimed water west of N.C. 55 — does that change my irrigation maintenance?

It does. Reclaimed water clogs nozzles and filters faster than potable supply, so we clean and re-nozzle on a tighter cycle and make sure reclaimed lines stay properly separated. The upside is cheaper water; the trade-off is that skipping maintenance shows up in your coverage sooner.
